In Twist, you express how you feel about a comment or message with reactions. A reaction is a small emoji that appears below a comment.
You can search for your favorite emoji by keyword, select one by browsing different categories, or simply pick one of your recently used or popular emoji that appear at the top of the emoji picker.
- Click on the smiley face icon or the + icon near the comment or message you’d like to react to.
- In the reaction picker that opens, you have the option to search for your favorite emoji by typing a keyword in the search bar, select one of your recently used emoji shown at the top of the picker, or browse through all emoji by clicking on the different category icons at the bottom.
- Click on an emoji to add it as a reaction.
- On Windows 10, press the Windows Key + semicolon or period (this depends on your keyboard) to bring up a list of additional emoji.
- On macOS, CTRL + ⌘ + Space brings up a list of additional emoji.
- Long press the comment or message you’d like to react to.
- A selection of emoji will pop up. If you want to view more emoji, tap the smiley face to the right.
- In the reaction picker that opens, you have the option to search for your favorite emoji by typing a keyword in the search bar, select one of your recently used emoji shown at the top of the picker, or browse through all emoji by tapping on the different categories at the bottom.
- Tap on an emoji to add it as a reaction.
Each comment or message have a maximum of 18 reactions. Once the maximum is reached, you can only choose to add one of the reactions already added by others. Just click on one of the emoji shown under the comment or message.

Can I select a skin tone preference for my emoji?
We don’t offer this option for now but we hope to add this in a future update.
Can I use custom emoji for reactions?
No. We don’t support custom emoji for reactions.
