Use Google Drive with Twist

Share any file from your Google Drive with your team on Twist. Here’s how:

  1. Click the paperclip icon in the bottom left of your comment or to the right of your message.
  2. Select Google Drive.
  3. If this is the first time you access your Google Drive, sign in to your account.
  4. Choose the file you want to share and click Select.
  5. The selected file will be uploaded, turned into a Markdown link, and added to your comment or message.

  1. Tap the paperclip icon in the bottom left of your comment or message.
  2. Tap File Manager.
  3. In the top-left, tap the menu icon.
  4. Select Drive.
  5. If this is the first time you access your Google Drive, sign in to your account.
  6. Tap on the file you want to add.
  7. The selected file will be uploaded and attached to your comment or message.
This feature is not yet available for the Windows 10 app.

FAQ

Q: How can I access files from a different Google account?

A: You’ll need to disconnect Twist via Google Drive:

  1. Visit https://drive.google.com
  2. In the top-right corner, press the gear icon and select Settings.
  3. On the left, select the Manage apps tab.
  4. Scroll down until you see Twist and press Options.
  5. Choose Disconnect from Drive.
  6. Confirm by pressing Disconnect.

Next time you try to add a Google Drive file, you'll be able to sign in with a different account.

A: Simply add the Google account to your device:

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap Clouds and accounts.
  3. Select Add account.
  4. Select Google.
  5. Follow the instructions to add your account.

Q: Can I attach files from a shared Google Drive folder?

A: Yes, but only if the owner of the file has granted you permission to share it.

Q: How can I remove a file?

A: Simply remove the link from your message or comment and delete the file preview:
  1. Click the three dot icon to the left of your message or to the right of your comment.
  2. Select Edit.
  3. Remove the URL and click Save.
  4. Next, click on the x to the left of the attachment, and click Delete.

A: For now, an attachment can only be deleted by deleting the message or comment. We’re currently working on improving this.
